Comprehensive support for music publishers and creators – from the studio to exploitation
We provide legal support to music creators, music producers and record labels – both independent and those operating within larger media entities. We have advised on projects involving the production of film, commercial, experimental and functional music.
Contract drafting and negotiation
Our experience includes drafting and negotiating publishing, production, licensing, phonographic and synchronization (sync deals) agreements, as well as contracts with artists, composers, lyricists and music producers. We have assisted publishers in acquiring rights to musical works and recordings (phonogram rights). As part of this work, we have, for example, drafted agreements transferring the rights of musicians and composers to a well-known music publisher, and we have also drafted standard agreements for the acquisition of music rights for a computer game publisher in its projects.
Music in multimedia projects
We advised on the use of musical works in games, films and television series, as well as on the commercialisation of rights through digital distribution channels and social media. We analysed the terms and conditions of platforms allowing for the use of musical works. Among other things, we have drafted agreements transferring the rights of musicians and composers to a well-known music publisher. We have drafted agreements for film music composers and negotiated licence agreements concerning copyrights to musical works and phonograms for use in other works, including audiovisual works and computer games.
Cooperation with collective rights management organisations
We have experience in dealing with collective management organisations, including ZAIKS and ZAPA. We have assisted publishers in registering works with such organisations and creators in enforcing their royalties.
